Toothsome Tuesdays: Rosemary

This is our new feature: Toothsome Tuesdays!

Historically, my main source of rosemary has been stealing it from our neighbor's backyard. (Thank you, Mullaneys.) Every time I skulked through their gate and snipped a few branches, I thought ‘You really oughta grow some of this yourself.’ But I never seemed to get around to it. Or perhaps, kidnapped herbs in hand, I lost my motivation.

Five years later, I finally planted a rosemary bush of my very own.

Turns out that rosemary has a long reputation for improving memory. So, I trust that my powers of recall will be in mint condition from here on out. And the next time I think ‘I oughta’ anything—I won’t forget to do it.

Yes, it’s a tall order for a tiny shrub. Still, one taste and you just know rosemary is capable of great things.

Rosemary Quote: “Where rosemary flourished, the women ruled.” –Unknown

Rosemary Fact: It was believed that placing a sprig of rosemary under a pillow before one sleeps would repel nightmares. It was also rumored to repel witches.
